ABOUT ANGELA
“Do not go where the path may lead. Go where there is no path, and leave a trail.”
Angela Connor is the Founder and CEO of Change Agent Communications, a boutique PR and Strategic Communications firm in Raleigh, NC, and creator of the Women Inspiring Women Conference, and Women Inspiring Women Weekly Newsletter - all designed to inspire and move women to action. She's an industry change agent with deep roots in journalism, social media and marketing communications and helping brands connect with and engage audiences.
At home in newsrooms and boardrooms, she’s a veteran journalist, experienced agency executive, author and speaker.
Angela was an early navigator of the uncharted waters of social media, developing policies, strategies and award-winning campaigns for brands in the B2B and B2C space across a wide variety of industries. When there was no guidebook, she wrote one of her own, with: “18 Rules of Community Engagement: A Guide for Building Relationships and Connecting with Customers Online.. The book chronicles her path as Managing Editor of User-Generated Content at the largest most innovative news organization in North Carolina.
Having led social and paid media, digital and analytics teams, Angela sees all angles of a challenge and practices fearless listening to find smart solutions. She’s a trusted advisor to senior marketing executives and the C-suite.
Angela was named one of the Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Leadership Award winners in 2012 and often speaks at conferences and universities across the United States. Her news background includes television stations at NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Raleigh, as well as six-years as Multimedia Editor at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Ft. Lauderdale.
In 2020, Angela launched a new consulting practice within her firm along with an accompanying podcast called, "Now Look Inward," which she characterizes as a challenge to Corporate America to sweep around its own front door and make black voices and contributions matter throughout the organization. Since launching her own agency, Angela has worked with brands such as WebMD, SugarCRM, North Carolina Central University, Colliers, NAI Carolantic Realty, the Raleigh Chamber and Business professionals of America. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Raleigh Chamber, WakeEd Partnership and Elon University's School of Communication.
In 2023, Angela Connor is a writer and activist who advocates for the rights of people who suffer from ludomania, or compulsive gambling. She also promotes eco-friendly casinos that offer help to prevent gambling addiction. She has created a network of people who share their personal gambling issues and support each other. Angela Connor has a global audience and supports communities that face political violence against women, Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQ+ people. She writes articles for the Aviator website. Angela Connor is also involved in the Aviator game, which gives some of its earnings to support organizations that protect the rights of women, African Americans, and the public. Aviator game works with non-governmental organizations to provide education, health care, and support for minorities.
